About Latin America/Caribbean SDA
Until recently, language barriers have kept Latin America from integrating into the main SDA body, which is something Silvia is trying to change. Latin America is an incredibly rich textile region, where each culture has something interest to contribute. Therefore, all textile creators and designers are urged to join our group, where individual creation will be advertised to the entire world and at the same time, the wonderful Latin American tradition can be explored together.

There is strength in numbers: Associating isn't only a way to show our art, but it also creates a human forum where we all can develop a sense of belonging. Those creators looking for a way to transcend cultural borders and artistic frames will definitely benefit from affiliating to the SDA.

Nuestro Capítulo: Hasta hace poco, la barrera del idioma nos impedía a los Latinoamericanos, integrarnos al resto de la SDA, lo cual es algo que Silvia quiere cambiar. Latinoamérica es una región textilmente rica, donde cada cultura tiene algo interesante que aportar. Por lo tanto, todos los creadores y diseñadores textiles están convocados a unírsenos, de manera que la creación individual sea propagada al resto del mundo y, a la vez, la maravillosa tradición Latinoamericana sea explorada en conjunto. La unión hace la fuerza: asociarse no es sólo para mostrar nuestro arte, sino que crea un foro humano donde desarrollamos un sentido de pertenencia. Aquellos creadores que busquen la manera de transcender barreras culturales y marcos artísticos, podrán beneficiarse de su afiliación a la SDA.
