Della Reams has been the SDA Public Relations Manager since early 2007. Prior to that, for nearly two decades Della ran her own women's apparel design and manufacturing company, and taught fashion design at the college level. Her work has appeared in Boston Globe Magazine, Self Magazine, New York Times Magazine, and other publications. She has traveled to Europe, the Far East, the Middle East, and Africa for design research. Della has been creating one-of-a-kind textiles and apparel since earning her MFA in Textiles from Rhode Island School of Design in 2005. Her work earned both the SDA Award of Excellence and the ATEXINC Award of Excellence in 2007. Della Reams is currently Assistant Professor at Virginia Commonwealth University School of the Arts Qatar Campus (VCUQatar), where she teaches textile and fashion design to and researches Islamic textiles. In 2009 she introduced SDA to the Middle East at the Icograda Mousharaka conference at VCUQatar.
