Weaving 101 with Daryl Lancaster

Start from the beginning. No experience necessary! You will learn to plan a project, wind a warp, sley, thread, and beam that warp onto a multi shaft floor loom. Then learn to read a draft, understand pattern, explore color interaction and sample, sample, sample! Participants will then be able to weave off two cotton dishtowels to take home.

Participants in this weekend intensive will be introduced to the world of beautiful, accessible, and sustainable botanical dyes. Learn the basics of selecting and preparing fibers, extracting color from a variety of plant materials, and fixing natural dyes to fabric.
