Deadline: October 15. Juror Włodzimierz Cygan will select a large and diverse selection of tapestries to present an international compendium of artists working in the medium of contemporary, hand woven tapestry. The intention of this show is to include not only artists who work within more traditional definitions of tapestry, but also those artists whose work expands upon the core principles of the medium as it explores new techniques and processes. International performance/sculptural artist, Sha Sha Higby creates exquisite and ephemeral body sculpture that she performs in in solo performances. Internationally renowned for her evocative and haunting performances, she is influenced by her studies in Asia, Noh Mask and theater, dance and shadow puppets.
