The Art of Tapestry Weaving with Tricia Goldberg

Weave with sumptuous fine wool yarns and learn tapestry techniques including hatchings, hachures, slits, and patterns for combining colors, and experiment with eccentric or non-horizontal weaving. Silk Painting with Alternative Resists with Debra Dolsberry

For this workshop, students should have basic experience on how transparent dye behaves and mixes on the silk. Demonstrations will focus on using dye, sodium alginate, cellulose, water and salt to create imagery and border design. Cellulose will be used both to treat the silk and as a dye thickener. They will be instructed on how to work with dye and thickening agents such as sodium alginate and water-soluble resists. Indigo Dyeing with Natalie Stopka

Conjuring the Narrative with Textiles with Karen Hampton

Create book structures that use fabric, paper, collage and your personal collections. Combine hand stitching and machine sewing with paper collage and traditional book binding techniques.
