California Fibers: Points of View

California Fibers “Points of View” encompasses a variety of fiber artists working from a myriad of approaches, each using different materials and techniques. Some artists such as Polly Jacobs Giacchina are inspired “by exploring texture and form through materials and techniques.” Cameron Taylor Brown’s work “responds to my experiences as a traveler. I see new places and meet new people, which open my eyes to new ways of seeing and thinking.” Lori Zimmerman’s embroidery “responds to the impulse to mend’s one’s life and one’s community.” In addition, California Fibers “Points of View” showcases a variety of techniques and materials from assemblage art to contemporary approaches to traditional weaving, quilting and stitching.
