Image Statement: "Stifle" is stiff, its arms behind its back (tied? cuffed?). Its structured head almost armor-like, embroidered with grouped words evoking the effects of stifling the "other." The use of reclaimed fabric alludes to our insistence on trying to reclaim the effects of squashing opportunities for so many, yet never quite resolving this problematic practice. Once again, the opaque head projects clouded thinking, as the transparent body "keeps the score" by revealing all.
