Image Statement: Transit continues my exploration of painting two or more layers of different weight silk at once. Using both direct dye drawing and breakdown printing I build a highly textured visual surface. I added small strips of previously printed silk and tied the two layers with small areas of stitching. My goal is to keep the viewer engaged as they Transit throughout the piece, step away, move in close.
