25 Million Stitches: one of each of 25 million Refugees
To raise awareness in our global Refugee crisis. I am asking you to join this public engagement art installation. I believe that stitching for this project is a way for us to engage with this global crisis instead of ignoring it. And even though no single stitch can fully represent an individual, the act of stitching and the resulting work will help bring attention to the scale of the crisis. The two goals of this projects are :1 to involve any many people to stitch and to engage in a conversation about the crisis. 2 to amass 25 million stitches to provide visual representation of this astronomical figure of global refugees. We have June 20th 2020 as the first exhibition date, on the World Refugee day. This is a community art installation. I am asking volunteers to hand stitch on 15″ x 36″ to 72″ fabric panels. If you want the panels to be sent to you, please visit, https://www.jenniferkimsohn.com/25-million-stitches and follow the instructions for panel request.
