A Garden of Color: Weaving Wool in Naturally Dyed Hues
Instructor: Wendy Weiss
Discover how to use plant dye on wool, exploring how to maximize color from a limited palette gathered from nature, while you play with a multi-shaft loom. Achieve a sumptuous array of hues on naturally colored wool, developing rich tones to combine in warp and weft. Explore weave structures on a four or eight harness loom and learn how to read and modify drafts from a collection provided in class. You will combine a variety of weave structures and weft colors using your specific threading to weave up a soft, patterned scarf or color gamp. Intermediate
