Conversation between artist Linda Gass and Professor Valerie Olson
Artist and SDA Member Linda Gass will be in conversation with professor of anthropology Valerie Olson, PhD about the commission she created for the “Dissolve” exhibition. Gass collaborated with Olson to present her research on communities and ecosystems through a textile and sound installation. The resulting work combines data explored in Olson’s scholarship with an aesthetic presentation addressing the changes over time to the Santa Ana River Watershed and the experiences of at-risk communities within the watershed. Dissolve curator Bridget R. Cooks, PhD serves as moderator for the conversation about environmental and social justice and the role that art and research play in making a more sustainable future.
