Intro to Weaving on a Four Shaft Loom
Instructors: Daryl & Brianna Lancaster
Explore this time-honored craft, on a 4 shaft loom that allows patterning and play. Designed for beginners, and using a pre-wound 5/2 cotton warp, this workshop will take you through threading the loom and beaming the warp and teach you to understand patterning, reading a draft, color interaction, and how to weave good cloth. Plain weave, twills, rib and basket structures, and ‘color and weave’ will be covered. All materials will be provided and participants will be able to weave off two small cotton hand-towels to take home. Beginner and Beyond
