Plants to Prints: Eco Printing on Fabric & Paper
Instructor: Kathleen Lang Metaxas
Eco-Printing or Direct Contact Printing is the process of embedding botanical “stamps” directly from plant material. Working with natural elements such as leaves, blossoms, berries and metal, you will learn how to prepare fabric for natural dyes, which fabrics accept dye well, botanical dye plants, and how to extract the dye into the fabric. A full introduction to the process of “eco-printing” will be demonstrated. You will then use the knowledge of dye plants and process learned to create your own silk scarf, bandana, eco printed one page book and more! Beginner and Beyond
