Shaping Space with Flax Fiber/Jacqueline Mallegni, Instructor
“Your eyes and mind will be intrigued by the ever-changing patterns created by paper forms and the empty spaces they define.”
Spend the day learning this non-traditional papermaking technique. We will transform flax roving into beautiful textured paper, then shape space by creating an ethereal sculpture.
Flax fiber paper can be used with book art techniques; it can painted with inks and stains, encaustic and for stitching.
The class is designed to make friends with our inner-critic and to have fun. No-experience with papermaking or sculpture necessary.
At the end of the day you will have made organic open vessel forms that may or may not be dried, depending on the weather. Please bring a container in which to transport your work.
