All California fiber artists are invited to submit work to Traditions Evolve, an online juried exhibition sponsored by Northern California SDA hosted on the SDA website, 1 of only 2 online shows SDA is hosting for 2022. Many of us learned our craft first as a traditional technique; sometimes our grandparents taught us; or we learned them in formal education or training programs; some of us studied books or watched YouTube. Regardless of where we first learned fiber techniques, our own variations developed with time and practice. Entries must use or be inspired by fiber techniques, fiber or textile materials, or fiber- or textile-like materials.
We are honored to have Kira Dominguez Hultgren as our juror. Her personal work reflects our theme of traditional craft growing into contemporary art.
