Weaving, Computer Drafting & Pattern Design
Instructor: Jovencio de la Paz
Weaving is a pattern language. Starting with the simple over-and-under structure of plain weave, a nearly infinite world of patterns emerges, from dazzling twills to the dizzying undulations of Overshot. Learn how to think through patterns with computer aided drafting, using simple and free software to understand structures. You will be encouraged to explore patterns that surround us every day, looking to nature, to technology, to music, and other sources as inspiration for pattern drafts that you will then explore on the loom. While no computer aided-design experience is needed, you should have some experience with floor-loom weaving. Advanced Beginner and Beyond
