Picnic at Dead Horse Bay (panels 01-05), 2022
animal and plant fibers on vintage fishing nets 94 x 72 x 78 inches, variable
"Picnic at Dead Horse Bay," needle-woven on fishing nets reminiscent of those made and mended for millennia, embodies the idea of revolving histories. Littered with remnants of lives disrupted by eminent domain, the bay provides a cautionary tale that the past resurfaces, sometimes unexpectedly, often consequentially.

Strand 03, 2021
silk and plant fibers on vintage fishing net 60 x 29 x 6 inches
Woven onto a worn fishing net similar to those made and mended for thousands of years, the Strand series holds double meaning. The word “strand” means the literal shore but also the thread that comprises each piece and holds it together—a metaphor for the themes that weave our past to our present.
