The symmetry of nature’s textures have inspired the aesthetics of this work. Simplification of the form is used as a narrative for the harmony, composition and complexity of nature. The title and substance – Cones, are the works simple and unpretentious invitation, to the viewer, to experience the magic of the moment. The work is accomplished using recycled materials.
The textile is designed as a rough and robust braid, which is simple and minimalistic in its execution. Subtle colors and patterns go hand in hand with coarseness, just as Scandinavian aesthetics can combine roughness in textural expressions and minimal nuances of color. The weaving technique is there for secondary, giving focus to the poetic nature of the textures.
"The work is designed as a weave or crochet, which with its craftwork recalls the heritage of a family. In so much as that family craftwork, is passed down from generation to generation with its own personal family trait. Virtues and values are there for incorporated into the textile subject through these crafts. In this work, the textiles are expressed in a gray color scheme, with a slightly faded charm, but full of old messages that reveal themseves like an abstract patterns in the sand. Giving simultaneously a simple and complex signature."
