Image Statement: Handwoven Book Inspired by ancient papyrus, I wove a continuous sheet with paper warp and weft, folded it and bound it into a handmade book. Weaving The theme of paper inspired me to use paper yarns from Japan. I had just 3 colours - brown, white and blue which became both the warp and the weft. The colours on hand gave me the idea of making a book - brown for the cover, white paper and blue for the lines and the "writing". Finishing touches included sewn binding, a handmade button and adding a spool knitted closure for this journal-style book.
