Intro to Creative Darning with Hannah Oatman
This workshop will teach you how to repair worn and damaged clothing, fabrics, and textiles using basic and intermediate darning techniques. Darning is a simple mending method that can fix holes of any size or shape in virtually any kind of fabric–it can be subtle or bold and artfully visible and uses very simple tools. Darning allows you to personalize and extend the life of beloved objects, making it both a craft and a sustainability practice. In this workshop, you will practice on fabric scraps before moving on to your own damaged textiles–socks, sweaters, oven mitts, or just about anything else you can’t bear to throw away!
