In this introductory workshop, you will learn the basics of working with round and flat reed to create a variety of functional baskets. We will cover several techniques for making bases and weaving patterns, and you will have the opportunity to create unique variations in your vessels. Participants will leave with at least 3 completed baskets. We will be learning with purchased reed, but these techniques can be transferred to locally harvested vines and other natural fibers, and the instructor will provide information on weaving with material you can harvest in your backyard. All levels are welcome, but moderate hand strength is required.
