Kennesaw State University is now accepting applications for a full-time, tenure track faculty position as Assistant Professor of Textiles in the School of Art and Design with a preferred start date of August 2026. This is a nine-month contracted position. This position is for work to be performed in the state of Georgia.

Responsibilities:
– Teaching undergraduate courses in the Textiles and Surface Design program.
– All tenure track faculty have teaching, service, and scholarship/research activity expectations.
– Actively engage in creative endeavors, and/or scholarly activities.
– Teaching assignments will be based on earned degrees and SACSCOC Faculty Credentials Guidelines.

Required Qualifications:
– A Terminal degree (i.e., MFA) or the foreign equivalent, in Textiles or a related discipline, is required at the time of hire.
– Thorough knowledge of Adobe Creative Suites.
– Preferred Qualifications

The successful candidate should have expertise in fibers, yarns and textile materials including design, development, structure, and technology in academic and/or industrial environments. The candidate should possess industry experience and an established record of professional achievement.

The following are also desirable qualifications:
– Teaching experience at the university level
– Experience in Sewing
– Experience in Textile Design
– Business acumen in fashion forecasting and trends.
– Industry experience
– Online teaching experience
– Experience working with software relating to textiles programming.
