La resistenza pacifica delle stelle – A solo exhibition by Stefania Ruggieri
ITSLIQUID Group is delighted to invite you to the opening of “La resistenza pacifica delle stelle”, a solo exhibition by Stefania Ruggieri. The event will open on September 11, 2026, at 06:00 PM at the historic Santa Teresa dei Maschi in Bari, running until September 24, curated by Luca Curci and co-curated by Giulia Tassi.
This exhibition marks the culmination of a fourteen-year analytical journey for the artist. A poet by trade and an artist by necessity, Ruggieri presents a body of work that deconstructs the ephemeral nature of daily news to build a permanent sanctuary of collective memory.
At the heart of the exhibition is the technique of decontextualised collage. Ruggieri treats a symbol of fleeting information and modern anxiety, the daily newspaper, as raw material: words, headlines, and faces are dismantled and reassembled to spark new semantic meanings.
Each piece becomes a critical mirror: a visual synthesis that transforms the “breaking news” of the moment into a lasting political, social, and cultural statement. It is a process of “destruction and creation” where the media’s language is broken down to reveal the underlying tensions and quiet hopes of the human condition.
Inspired by the Logos and the ancient connection between the stars and the invention of writing, Ruggieri makes visible the power of images and words in preserving intergenerational memory.
“Words build worlds, but they also do the opposite; they destroy to recreate or to generate terrifying deserts. They heal individual and collective wounds“, says Curator Loredana Ruggieri.
In a historical moment where truth often feels fragile, Ruggieri‘s compositions invite the “observer-reader” to find a personal truth within the apparent nonsense of scattered words. Like the boreal constellations, these works offer a guide through the darkness, representing what the artist calls a “peaceful resistance.”
