Sunset Silhouette III, 2022
Wool and Linen yarns 36x60x.5 inches
Single Panel of a 3 panel work of a tree at sunset on Lake Michigan. Sunset Silhouette I, II, III - My work as a weaver and fiber artist speaks in yarn and color. This language of fiber can be a challenging endeavor, but the fiber speaks to me too. I have been taking photos of sunsets and sunrises from my home studio on Lake Michigan in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. The photos inspire me to bring these images to my woven work. The Ash tree in this image shows the tenacity and perseverance I would like to emulate.

April Come She Will, 2023
Wool and Linen yarns 36x60x.5 inches
"April Come She Will" was inspired by a good friend's painting. That abstract painting became the inspiration and catalyst for the design and then weaving. I'm so happy with the result as it doesn't actually copy the original but it certainly conveys the feeling that is evoked by the painting.
