One Planet…One Shared Future, 2025
Wet Felted using Bergschaf Wool, Merino Wool, silk, wool nepps, embellishing fibers, bark, moss. 6"x10"x10"
This felt vessel reflects the intricate, interwoven systems that sustain life. A forest is a world within a world—countless lives connected in a delicate balance of growth, decay, and renewal. Just as the wool fibers in this piece have been shaped by hand, every species, every ecosystem, and every action we take is part of a larger tapestry. Deforestation and climate change threaten the delicate balance of our planet’s ecosystems. When one part suffers, the effects ripple outward. Yet nature teaches resilience, adaptation, and hope. In the face of these challenges, we must ask: Will we be caretakers or disruptors? This vessel invites reflection on our shared responsibility. Our choices shape the future of this one planet—our home.

Our House, 2024
Handmade Felt/wet-felted 8x8x9"
I seek to evoke a sense of rootedness and connection to the earth…Our House. My felt vessel weaves together elements of earth, organic textures, and symbolism. As viewers peer through the window screen, they are invited to journey into the depths of the earth. The visual representation of a small tree with a single green leaf, and roots reaching through the screen symbolizes the enduring resilience of life, the natural world, and the promise of new growth. My hope is that this piece might serve as a visual meditation on our connection to the earth. It reminds us of our roots and the importance of staying grounded even in the midst of turmoil. Additionally, it aims to encourage a sense of hope for the future, and to inspire a renewed sense of responsibility and stewardship for our shared home. Dawn Edwards, 2024
