Portal to the Metaverse, 2022
Wool, silk, and tencel yarn 68" x 77"
Portal borrows imagery from circuit boards and reconfigures the lines into a centralized medallion design that is common in carpet weaving traditions. My reference considers the role of textiles in marking ritual spaces and imagines this tapestry as a symbolic doorway to a virtual world.

DALL-E 07.51.35, 2024
Mixed fibers 32" x 32"
This tapestry is a faithful interpretation of an AI generated design. DALL·E 07.51.35 conveys the idea of a motherboard without being literal. Other than crafting the prompt, I didn’t design this piece, but my hand and my artistic intent are fully present in the design's transformation into a physical artwork. It’s a weird duality; a true collaboration. Such is the future in the age of AI.
