siblings, 2026
Hand dyed reclaimed silk, fibre, wrapped armature 11"x9"
Siblings reflects on growing up as one of six children. Six sections hold traces of the people who shared my earliest sense of home. I wrapped the armature in torn, hand dyed reclaimed silk, then used very fine fibres to make figures that are almost absent. They remain visible through their shadows. The work considers how our places within a family shift over time, while those early relationships continue to shape our sense of belonging.

The daughters I imagined, 2026
Hand dyed reclaimed silk, fine fibres, wrapped armature 14"x14"
The Daughters I Imagined gives form to people who existed in my imagination but never in my life. Torn, hand dyed reclaimed silk wraps the armature, while fine fibres hold figures that are barely there. They are transparent, yet they cast shadows. As I approach fifty, I have been thinking about the lives we picture for ourselves and how those imagined possibilities stay with us, even as our lives take another shape.

Baby Blue, 2026
Hand dyed reclaimed silk, fine fibres, wrapped armature 9"x11"
Baby Blue reflects on the strange feeling of loss after birth, when the baby who grew inside my body is suddenly outside it. The larger and smaller forms remain connected, but occupy separate spaces. Fine fibres stretch between and through them, suggesting both closeness and the beginning of separation. I made the figures almost transparent, like a memory of being one body.

Womb, 2026
and dyed reclaimed silk, fine fibres, wrapped armature 8"x7.5"
Womb is about holding and growing a life. Two woven forms sit within a single wrapped outline, connected by fine threads and the space around them. I wanted the work to feel protective but also open, acknowledging that the person held within a body is already becoming someone of their own.

The Child I Was, 2026
Hand dyed reclaimed silk, fine fibres, wrapped armature 7"x5"
The Child I Was is a small portrait of my inner child. A fine woven figure sits within a larger outline, present but almost transparent. As I approach fifty, I find myself looking back at the child I was and noticing how much of her I still carry. Her shape is faint, but she has never quite disappeared.

The Woman I am Becoming, 2026
Hand dyed reclaimed silk, fine fibres, wrapped armature 8.5"x7.5"
The Woman I Am Becoming looks both forward and back. As I approach fifty, I am thinking about the person I once imagined I would be, the life I have lived, and the parts of myself still taking shape. The figure is held within a rough outline of reclaimed silk. Its fine threads let the wall show through, allowing past and future to occupy the same space.
