Waterfall in the Pyrenees, 2024
Fiber(wool, silk, viscose) 17"x34"
While creating the artwork, I was inspired by my trip to France, particularly the Cirque de Gavarnie in the French Pyrenees. It features several large meltwater falls that spill into the cirque. The largest of these is Gavarnie Falls, the second-highest waterfall in Europe. It descends some 422 meters (1,385 ft) over a series of steps before reaching the floor of the cirque.

The artwork was inspired by my 2-year-old granddaughter, Alisa, who was scared by a thunderstorm. Her Mom helped Alisa overcome the fear. Alisa answered the mother's questions about how she would feed him.
