The Spirit of the Hummingbird, 2021
This piece was painted in acrylic on watercolour paper then crushed, bonded onto textile and stitched. It has been framed without glass. 12" by 16"
The challenge for theis years UK Royal Academy of Art's summer Exhibition was to explore art used by ancient people prior to the rennaisence. I chose to use some of the symbols of the North American First Nations groups and incorporating them into the hummingbird which is a spiritual bird for many of them. I researched the colours of the Anna Hummingbird and used it along with the symbols Ito depict a modern interpretation to this ancient art. I produced two of them with one still for sale.

Sandpipers, 2019
Acrylic painted on Watercolor textile bonded paper and heavily stitched 20" by 24"
I enjoy the sight of water birds hunting for their food across the waterways. These rascals were painted silhouetted against the colours of the rising sun. The original sold immediately as did the first of my enhanced stitched prints on canvas. I still have one more available.
