Varied recycled and thrifted fabrics on structure of wire fencing. 68" x 236" x 5"
This work hovers between tapestry and painting, traditional and contemporary fiber works. By instinctively blending colors, and irregularly interweaving fabric strips, I build layers of color and pattern as I would build paint on an abstract painting. The overall work became a metaphor for days in my life, each unit building on what came before, but added to according to my changing experiences and moods. As a counterpoint, the overall effect reminded me of the rich and ever-changing surface of the woodland floor.
