Log Cabin Watercolor, 2025
Silk organza painted with natural dyes, hand stitched 48" x38"
Log Cabin Watercolor references a traditional quilt that has been recreated in a contemporary style. Although this piece is big enough to sleep under, it wouldn’t be practical because it lacks the strength and warmth that a quilt would provide. The transparent colors create a feeling of a watercolor painting.

A Neighborhood, 2024
Silk organza painted with natural dyes, hand stitched 31"h x 39"w
What one defines as their neighborhood is different than the person who lives next door might see it. This piece is inspired by a map I was visually excited by. It illustrates the wide variety of space one calls home. The transparent colors change as they overlap and cause a color shift. and make the colors float on the stitched background. The blanket stitch emphasizes the borders.

How the Light Gets In IV, 2023
Silk organza painted with natural dyes, hand stitched 40'h x26"w
How the Light Gets In IV references a traditional quilt that has been recreated in a contemporary style. Although this piece is big enough to sleep under, it wouldn’t be practical as a quilt because it lacks the strength and warmth that a quilt would provide. The colors of the silk organza pieces are painted with natural dyes. When these pieces of silk were assembled a whole new variety of colors emerged. The shapes were pieced with very simple and raw construction using overlapping seams. The threads create a linear aspect that add another dimension to the piece.

Canvas,Paint,threads 14"h x 24" w x 1.5"d
I am interested in creating relief sculptures that are based on surprises I find in my travels. New ideas and materials have emerged, as I explore the use of canvas painted with acrylic. Using a wide color palette, I designed and built this composition. These pieces include pattern making, and construction by hand stitching with a blanket stitch.
