Rayon Thread 3' x 3'
This work is inspired by themes of structured navigation and individual discovery. I was specifically interested in how these two concepts interact with the “field” in which they take place. I was intrigued by how a static textile could be visually activated by small, consecutive motifs that unexpectedly illuminate a larger motion or path. The movement of these small discoveries, which I illustrated as lines, are guided by a grid, reflecting a beautiful sense of structured randomness in working toward a vision that has not yet physically actualized.
