How do you transform intimate fiber work into commanding, immersive installations? This workshop bridges the gap between studio practice and architectural scale, offering both practical techniques and conceptual approaches for artists ready to work bigger.

Drawing from a decade of creating suspended multimedia installations and fiber-based environments, artist Holly Wong will share the technical knowledge, problem-solving strategies, and professional practices essential for scaling up successfully. You’ll learn about modular construction approaches, material selection for durability and impact, site analysis, budget negotiation, and the logistics of shipping, storage, and installation. We’ll explore tools ranging from LED integration to aircraft cable rigging, discuss safety protocols, and examine how to maintain artistic vision while managing the practical demands of large-scale work.

This workshop balances technical instruction with collaborative learning. Participants will have dedicated time to share their own work, discuss specific challenges, and receive guidance tailored to their projects. Whether you’re planning your first major installation or seeking to refine your approach, you’ll leave with concrete strategies, professional templates, and renewed confidence to think—and create—at monumental scale.
