Image Statement: Brushstrokes is my personal interpretation of the work of Joaquin Torres Garcia, a fellow Uruguayan artist, born in Montevideo nearly 90 years before me. The geometric abstraction at the heart of Torres Garcia's Universal Constructivism influenced my composition, which is built from "brushstrokes" of wool yarn applied to linen.
