Art Quilters Celebrate Independence
Phillips’ Mill Community Association of New Hope, PA presents “Art Quilters Celebrate Independence” a juried, touring exhibition featuring artwork by members of Studio Art Quilt Associates (SAQA) of Pennsylvania in honor of the 250th anniversary of the United States. Open Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays from 1:00-5:00 pm.
Juried by award-winning fiber artist Jill Kerttula, the show consists of 39 innovative quilted artworks exploring the broad meaning of independence, freedom of expression, and democratic values in our country today while exemplifying exciting conceptual and technical departures from quilting tradition that affirm the art quilt as a contemporary fine art medium.
Guest speaker Meg Cox will present “Art Quilts: An Introduction for Art Lovers + Collectors”, an all-new talk, on Tuesday, November 17 at 7:30 pm. Tickets $20; Mill members, $10.
Quilt guild members are invited to see the show on two special Thursdays, November 19 and December 3 from 1:00-5:00pm, and enjoy a 50% discount on admission for groups of 10 or more. Advance registration required.
