Screening and Artist Talk with Alisha B Wormsley
Join Revolutionary Care artist, Alisha B Wormsley for a screening from A Visual Manifesto: Rituals for Repair, a three-part experimental film installation rooted in Black feminist cosmologies, ancestral veneration, and the ongoing call for reparations.
Projected onto handwoven textiles inspired by African American quilting traditions, the work unfolds across Oakland, Tucson, and the Appalachian landscape of West Virginia, centering Black women artists, healers, and caretakers engaged in the embodied labor of survival and re-matriation.
Following the 22-minute screening, Wormsley will share additional video works and reflect on how this project connects to her broader practice, including her newest film in progress, The Temple of Our Survival.
Alisha B Wormsley (Pittsburgh, PA) is an interdisciplinary artist and cultural producer whose practice envisions the expansion of time and space and reMatriation. Her work transforms public space and collective imagination through projects rooted in liberated futures, ritual, and community care.
Free and open to the public, registration required.
