The 2017 members juried exhibition, Shifting Landscapes, will be held in partnership with form & concept at their location in Santa Fe, NM, February 24 2017 – May 20, 2017. An opening reception will be held Friday, February 25th from 5-7 pm at form & concept, with a panel discussion featuring Danielle Kelly, Executive Director of Surface Design Association, and the exhibition jurors Erika Lynne Hanson and Frank Rose, on Saturday, February 26th. Mark Newport, featured artists from the Fall SDJ issue, Mending, will also join the panel to discuss his exhibition at the gallery, Mark Newport: Mending.
Jurors Erika Lynne Hanson and Frank Rose sought work that explores traditional, non-traditional, and contemporary interpretations of place by artists, designers, and makers working with or inspired by fiber or textile materials and techniques. The jurors received 218 entries from 40 states and 25 countries. A total of 39 artists will be featured in the exhibition.

FIBER ART VIII International Biennial Fiber Arts Exhibition at Sebastopol Center for the Arts
This signature biennial exhibition at Sebastopol Center for the Arts, held in collaboration with Surface Design Association, invites national and international artists to submit innovative and traditional fiber art, contemporary concepts using either traditional or unusual materials. SDA members may apply at the reduced rate of $15 per entry.
Submission deadline: June 1.
